singing in the rain

Though I was planning for a spring look, I ended up singing in the rain

I had it all planned out, my perfect polka dot coat combined with my new yellow handbad amongst the most beautiful flowers, daffodils. What was I thinking? I live in Holland, where it often rains. After rain comes sunshine, and it did. A great way to test this trenchcoat -which became a raincoat- too. Click the images to enlarge. To know what I am wearing and which size, scroll down!

What am I wearing?

This polkadot trenchcoat is dark blue with little white dots. The big lapel collar, the belt and the wider bottom hem make it a perfect in-between-season coat. It’s water proof, wind proof -not officially but I tested it and it’s unlined, so perfect for spring. This coat is not from a plus size brand, it’s from the Dutch retailer DIDI and goes up to a size XXL which is 46 (or size UK 18). Another example to shop your shape and not your size. It’s difficult to shop a coat, since my top part and bottom part are different sizes but because of the wider bottom hem this coat fits me perfectly. I love the belt too, as it’s emphasizes the waist. Of course you could wear this the classic way with jeans and ankle boots but I went for the high heels and tights. To pop some color I chose this bright yellow handbag from H&M which is actually the perfect size bag, I’ve used it a lot already. To get that spring feeling I am wearing this bright pink color on my lips from Catrice and a white cotton beret.
