Relaxing in the hammock on a sunny day in the south of France, wearing shorts. What else do I need?

So I’ve escaped the Dutch weather for a week of sunshine in the south of France. How I’ve enjoyed it! In summer I love to wear shorts and I decided to step out of my comfort zone and wear a pair of bold printed shorts. To be honest, I’m a sucker for those coral tones so I didn’t need much persuasion.

Yes I know these shorts have a bold print. And I also know my hips are the biggest part of my body. I also know I shouldn’t be highlighting that area in order to look slimmer. But sometimes I don’t care about how I look when it comes to size. Bigger, smaller, as long as I like my outfit right? My body, my rules.

The shorts are a bit baggy, oversized even but I like that when it’s summer. Plussize shorts are my ideal item for warm weather, it’s comfortable and easy to wear. I’ve paired it with a simple top and a denim waistcoat. Somehow this makes each outfit look a little more casual, which I need to prevent from becoming totally preppy.

Actually I bought these printed shorts a size too big, but now in summer I’m glad I did. It wears very light and comfortable. The printed shorts are from Junarose and I am wearing a size 52. The waistcoat is a size 46 and the top a size XL and is from viscose which wears very light.
