Asparagus recipe

It’s asparagus season again, yum!

Do you make this asparagus recipe? There are many ways to cook but often you keep going the same routine. I love to use the oven and use it a lot. This simple veggie dish is delicious and can be a side dish for many different diners. For 4 persons you need the following ingredients:


Asparagus recipe1 bunch green asparagus
1 shallot cut in rings
2 cloves of garlic, bruised
½ lime in slices
4 table spoons olive oil
4 sprigs of thyme
salt & pepper

baking sheet for the oven
baking paper


Pre heat the over to 180 °C. Clean the asparagus. Get a bowl (or use a plastic bag) and add all the ingredients: olive oil, bruised garlic cloves, slices of lemon, whole sprigs of thyme and onion ring. Add salt and pepper and the asparagus. Mix this well, make sure the olive oil is spread equally. The oil has to be on all ingredients to prevent from burning in the oven. Place the asparagus mixture onto the backing paper, onto the backing sheet. Place the baking sheet into the oven. Bake the asparagus for about 30 minutes. But set your timer every 10 minutes and shake up the baking sheet for equal cooking. Check with a fork if the asparagus are good to eat before serving. Yum!
